There is nothing I love more than giving presents! Not because I expect getting anything in return, because I love the feeling of giving (and making) gifts. Seeing the smile on my friends and family members faces after they open my gift is all I need. Part of how I show my love for others is through gift-giving. I give gifts to my loved ones all year- round, yet the Christmas season is one of the most popular times of the year for gift giving. There is something about Christmastime that makes people want to give. I don’t know if it’s the spirit of giving or if we look forward to making others happy. I love giving presents and there is no better feeling. My favorite gift to give during the holiday season are my homemade peanut butter balls (a recipe passed down from my mother). It would appear to also be a favorite gift to receive.
Each Christmas my friends and family look forward to receiving my infamous peanut butter balls. I don’t really like baking or making sweets (I don’t think I am very good at it) so it only happens a couple times of the year. Note: I only make my peanut butter balls once a year so it’s considered an extra special treat when my friends and family receive them. They know that I took the time and energy to make them especially for them (and they know that they only get them once a year). There is something to be said about a homemade gift. So much love goes into making them. Nothing bought in a store can ever be as special.
Another gift I like making for others is jewelry. I started making jewelry a few years ago when I got tired of paying a lot of money for jewelry for myself and others. Once I learned how to make jewelry I made myself a few pieces, but spend the majority of time making jewelry for others. I love surprising my loved ones with homemade gifts. My mom probably has earrings in every colour. There is nothing better than being able to give a gift I’ve personally handcrafted. I also much prefer receiving gifts that are handmade to store bought. I know the time and effort that goes into a homemade gift and I appreciate the effort. It’s special. Made especially for me. Made especially for others.
Would you rather receive a homemade gift or a store bought one? Is there a gift you love giving or making for others? What’s your favorite part of gift-giving?
Happy holidays!
Give it to me please ! I’m waiting ! 🙂 😛

Another thing we haven in common!!! I love giving gifts!!! And I like making jewelry too!!! Although lately I am not making any jewelry at all, once in a while I make some pieces for me or to give friends!!! Your peanut butter balls looks yummie!!! This year I’m planning to bake some cookies to give to some friends!!! It is much more fun making the gifts than buying but sometimes I just don’t find the time to make all the gifts and end up buying some!!!

Yes, another commonality we have my Brazilian friend! Time is always the main issue. It can be so hard to find the time to make gifts. What kind of cookies will you bake?
