There is nothing I love more than the FOOD in Montreal, Quebec. Every time I visit Montreal I look forward to trying the variety of traditional and cultural foods. From Montreal bagels (yes, they are different from regular bagels), traditional poutine (fresh cut French-fries smothered with gravy and cheese curds), Greek, to Lebanese, I love it all. I know that when I visit Montreal I won’t worry about what I eat, because I will want to try it all. With unlimited markets, restaurants, street vendors, and food trucks I’ll be eating my way through the vacation.
One of the best parts of traveling is being able to try all the different foods in the area. I could spend an entire afternoon in China Town nibbling my way through. All over the island of Montreal I can find fresh cooked delicacies made with the freshet ingredients. With Montreal being one of Canada’s most multi-cultural cities, I’m able to find every kind of food: Korean BBQ, Thai, Montreal smoked meat, Indian, Italian, French-Canadian (the bakeries are incredible), Portuguese, Irish, and beyond. The options are endless; half the time I don’t even know where to begin. They say that Montreal has the best variety of food from around-the-world, especially once you know the area well.
Some of the best in Montreal:
Basha, Amir- Lebanese cuisine
Adonis- Lebanese Market
Lafleur, La Belle Province- Poutine and Steamed Hot Dogs
Marathon Souvlaki Restaurant- Greek
West Island Marche, St-Viateur Bagel, Real Bagel- Montreal Bagles
Scores- Pea Soup (French Canadian delicacy)
Smoked Meat Pete’s, Chenoy’s- Smoked Meat
Atwater Market, Jean Talon Market- Variety of food vendors
I can’t wait to try the food in my next destination: Puerto Rico.
Mouth watering blog 🙂 Bravo 🙂

Oh John you have it bang one. The second I leave Canada I miss home, especially the food (oh how Montreal makes my mouth water). I’m glad this post allowed you to reminisce about home, but I am sad it’s making you miss home. I’m sure you will find pieces of home in San Diego.
Ironically, I found a Montreal Bagel shop and Canadian Café on my last night in Auckland, New Zealand and I had the best poutine ever! It took my homesickness away with a bite! I’m sure you will find something similar!

Hey Jessica. Next time you’re in Montreal, go to Ramados and try their poutine… it has an delicious Portuguese twist. It was definitely one of my favourites when I was home this summer. Happy travels in 2015!

I’m in New Zealand with my boyfriend and his family. It’s been a nice couple of weeks. A bit sad to be leaving in a few days actually. Hoping to go to Bali and Sri Lanka in the next few months. What about you?

New Zealand is one of my favorite countries. I traveled the North and South island for 3 weeks. It was hard for me to leave that place too. Leaving means you’ll have more adventures to come.
I am still working on my 2015 bucket list, but I think Mexico will be on it (again).
