Turquoise Thursday: Coogee Beach, Australia
After flying 15 hours from Los Angeles to Sydney I finally arrived in Australia after my long awaited planning. I lost an entire day flying to Australia and I am now a day ahead. I landed at 6:30 in the morning after flying all night. The excitement and exhilaration of landing in Australia got my heart pumping and adrenaline flowing. I was ready to go. The last thing on my mind was sleep even though my night in coach was far from satisfactory. The first place I wanted to go was none other than…the beach. Any beach. A beach. Period.
After quickly settling in, I headed straight for the nearest beach to spend my first day in Australia. I arrived at Coogee Beach to explore. Throughout the entire day I was left speechless in awe of the fact that I finally made it to the one place I always dreamed about visiting but didn’t think I would ever see (it is just so far from Canada). I probably had my mouth wide open while wondering around the beach, nature preserves, natural baths, and beach town. Typical tourist! My first day was beyond my expectations and it is just the beginning. The weather was perfect! 30 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. I’ve managed to make my dreams come true and make it to Oz.

The turquoise water held my attention all day. I couldn’t take my eyes off the sea. It is everything I thought it would be and I know it will only get better from here. The only thing I didn’t expect was how cold the water is. For some reason I thought it would be warm like it is in the Caribbean, but it is not. At least I know I will be refreshed from a dip in the cool blue water after laying in the hot sun.
Coogee gave me the perfect welcome to Australia that I needed. I can’t wait to see what is next. With a huge country to explore and endless opportunities, I am excited to see where I am lead. Australia, I’m ready.
Lovely photos!!! Australia is on my travel bucket list too. But as it is so far from Brazil we didn’t have the chance yet! Hope you enjoy it the most!!!: )
Thank so much! You will get there someday just like I did.
Great photos!! To see it from another’s eyes is so fascinating – it’s giving us a greater appreciation of it.
Great! I am happy you found it fascinating even though you are familiar with it. 🙂 Lots more to come.

Thanks so much Irene. You need to post more turquoise jewelry for me to see!
I will. Did you check my Etsy shop for turquoise jewelry?
I haven’t. What’s the link?
It is also at my blog in mostly posts, but here again:

They look very nice Jessica 🙂
As do yours!
😀
Great photos 🙂
Thank you so much. It’s amazing isn’t it?
I never visited Coogee while in Sydney. It looks a lot like a less crowded Bondi beach. Sydney harbour is amazing. Try the harbour ferry for a cheap tour of the whole harbour. And enjoy a beer or glass of wine at the beachfront in Manly. Of course, you have to try surfing! As you head north, you might love Coolum Beach, north of Brisbane.
Yes, Coogee is full of locals, less tourists, and is less busy than Bondi. I enjoyed spending an afternoon on the Sydney harbour. The views are incredible. I liked Manly Beach, but when I went it was the Surf Open so the beaches were incredibly busy. I like a more quiet and rustic beach although it was cool to see the surf competitions. I’ll have to look for Coolum!
I’m so pleased for you especially as it’s your first time in Australia. It’s pretty far for us in Germany too so you’re going to be our eyes and ears. Enjoy that lovely turquoise water!
I am sure you will want to visit Oz after all of my posts! I was reading other peoples posts on Oz and it made me want to visit! Now I am here and living a dream!
