I’ve been to Montreal countless times, but I’ve never had the opportunity to visit the well known Jean Talon Market…until this visit that is. My boyfriend grew up in Montreal and he had never been there previously either. Finally, we made a commitment to explore the famous marketplace. I now know what all the fuss is about! Now that I’ve been, I think I am going to want to visit every time I come to Montreal. Maybe it will become part of my Montreal food tour routine!?
I have been to markets all over the world and this is by far one of the best markets I have visited. It is said that the Jean Talon market is one of the best markets in the world (especially in the summer). It’s so much fun exploring the colourful fresh produce, vibrant flowers, and the abundance of sweet treats. I nibbled my way through the market. From Indian food to French baked treats, the market has it all.
Montreal’s Jean Talon Market is a must see destination when in Montreal.
A bit posh compared to our local market 🙂

It’s a big posh compared to most markets, lol, including my local market. I still love my local place though! It’s fun to explore the various markets in the world!

I can’t believe I missed it when I was in Montreal in Summer 2013! I knew about it but didn’t make it there. I went to an amazing market in Cape Town today, the Old Biscuit Mill Market. I love visiting markets around the world

Yes, I’ve missed it time and time again, but finally made the time to see it this visit! You will make it there again some day. I bet the Cape Town market was fabulous. Did you buy any good finds? I’m with you—market hunting throughout this world is the best!

You would love it! They throw fish in the market! 🙂 You would have to take an Argosy cruise, one of which goes into the locks near Elliot Bay. It is so cool. The shopping is incredible and the sights are amazing.
