Now that I have decided to get my Yoga Teacher Training in 2015, I figured it was high time I invested in a good yoga mat. Enough with my cheap synthetic $15 special (I’m always slipping on my old mat). Now that I am practicing up to 5-6 days a week I need yoga mat I can rely on. Jade Yoga is committed to making the world’s most environmentally-friendly yoga mat out there and is considered one of the best performing yoga mat companies. Jade Yoga is committed to the highest level of customer service, while giving back to mother nature with each product purchased. Can you believe that Jade Yoga plants a tree with the purchase of a yoga mat in partnership with Trees for the Future, provides fresh water with the purchase of a yoga towel, and preserves the rainforest with the purchase of a yoga block?
The high performance of my non-slip open cell natural rubber harmony professional mat guarantees optimum grip when practicing ashtanga and other forms of yoga. Even when the yoga mat gets wet with presperation there is still no slipping. Natural rubber is considered one of the best materials for non-slip performance. The mat is comfortable with more resilience and cushion than most yoga mats. Jade Yoga offers a variety of mats including the one I have Harmony Professional Yoga Mat, Jade Harmony Yoga Mat Extra Long, Jade Teal Yoga Mat, Jade Travel Mat, Jade Extra Long Travel Mat, Jade Fusion Mat, Jade Extra Long Fusion Mat, and Harmony XW Yoga Mat. With so many yoga mat options, I’m positive you will find the right mat for your yoga practice. Jade Yoga also produces high quality yoga blocks, yoga towels, and other Jade Yoga goodies.
I can’t say enough about my pretty purple Jade Yoga Harmony mat, the original Jade Yoga mat and most popular mat. I also like that Jades Yoga mats are made in the U.S.A. in compliance with all U.S. environmental laws, with natural rubber, which is a renewable resource tapped from rubber trees and contain no PVC or ozone depleting substances. The more environmentally friendly the better. I’m always happy to support eco-friendly companies that produce locally. After trying Jade Yoga’s products for the first time, I’m interested in trying their turquoise (teal) 1/8 inch thick travel mat. Have you tried any Jade Yoga products, specifically the travel mat?
Mat Tips- When you first purchase your mat you will notice a natural rubber smell which is normal and will dissipate over time. The yoga mat is easily cleaned by hand washing it with cold water and wild soap. Just hang or lay flat to dry and you’ll be good to go (make sure you give it enough time to dry completely) All Jade Yoga mats should not be exposed to direct sunlight as the colour may fade. Any striations or streaks on the surface of the mat are normal and do not affect the performance of the mat. Latex Warning– I wouldn’t recommend this yoga mat for people with rubber or latex allergies as this mat contains natural rubber and may contain latex.
