In preparation for my destination wedding in the Dominican Republic (less than two weeks to go and counting), I decided that I want to do my own makeup on my wedding day. I want to make sure that I look like myself on my special day and not so done up that I don’t look ‘natural’. Rather than all the glitz and glam, I want to be the best version of myself that I can be–a natural glowing bride. To help learn the tricks of the trade, I booked a bridal makeup lesson with Debby Clements, a seasoned professional makeup artist. Step by step, Debby taught me how to recreate the ‘classic bide’ look which would be perfect for my wedding day on the beach.
Not only does Debby specialize in weddings, she also owns her own makeup and cosmetics line–Happy Hippy Mineral Makeup which are made locally in Moncton, New Brunswick. Happy Hippy Cosmetics is a healthier alternative to mainstream makeup and skin care being made from all-natural and organic ingredients that are fragrance free, free of dyes, gluten, and synthetic flavours, and preservatives. They’re also vegan! The cool thing about Happy Hippy Cosmetics is that each mineral colour can be used as blush, eye shadow, eyebrow powder, liner, and lip colour…the possibilities are endless. You can be your own makeup artist!

From the minute I tried the products I fell in love with all of them! I especially love the scent free gentle cleanser, scent free moisturizer, tone & set mist, and the cheeky monkey blush. I can’t wait to try some more!

One would think my cheeky Australian friend, however, the “hippy” aspect comes into play from the natural and organic ingredients.
