Sneak Peek at my Winter Adventures in Northeastern Ontario

Dog SleddingDog Sledding
I finally had the opportunity to check off one of my dream bucket list items in Northeastern Ontario: DOG SLEDDING! A true northern Canadian adventure! What an incredible experience it was to enjoy the ride and lead the pack. Not only am I hooked, but now I want a husky!Dog Sledding
Snowshoeing
My first experience snowshoeing Porcupine Ski Runners was a success! The trails which are designed specifically for snowshoeing are literally the nicest I have ever seen! We enjoyed our 3.7km Owl Trail which is rated the most difficult. I can’t wait to try the cross-country skiing trails next…the night lit ski trails are calling my name.

Winter Carnival
Had a great time at the South Porcuine Winter Carnival fireworks! I didn’t expect to be cooking supper on an open fire in the middle of winter with Environment Canada’s ‘Extreme Cold’ weather warning in effect, but to my surprise it was a success! Winter Carnival
Winter Bush Camp Fires
I had the opportunity to go snow shoeing out in the Boreal bush and have a winter camp fire (my first time) with s’mores and all! I’m learning to do what the locals do up here in the north!

There is one other winter activity I have experienced recently which I will be sharing with you shortly! Can you guess what it is?
