I am in a mad rush to finish all of my winter bucket list items before spring comes. I’m hoping I am not the only one in this position. With the first day of spring right around the corner, it’s time to finish one bucket list and to start planning for my spring bucket list items. What’s on your spring bucket list? It is hard to believe that my time in Northeastern Ontario is coming to an end very shortly with my husband getting a job with Porter (how exciting!). As much as I have thoroughly enjoyed my time traveling around Northern Ontario, it’s unlikely that I will be back to this area after we depart anytime in the near future as this is my fourth visit to Ontario’s northern region. This last visit has based me here for 8 months of explorations in the area. Northeastern Ontario has welcome me with open arms as if it has been my home. What a blessing it has been to be able to travel to different regions within my home country–Ontario is no exception.
As I am slowly learning what to do in Ontario’s northern region during the winter season, I am more familiar with the fabulous sunny spring activities as I have spent two spring seasons in Northeastern Ontario. As I am finishing up my winter adventure bucket list, I am anxiously awaiting the first signs of the spring season so that I can get out and enjoy the region’s best one last time before my departure.
Five Reasons to Fall in Love with Timmins in the Spring:
- TEBA (Timmins Ecological Beekeeping Association) – organic bee keeping, honey, and more
- Milson Forestry Service – forestry tour
- Cedar Meadows Resort and Spa – Wildlife tour
- Hersey Lake Conservation Area – Hiking
- Wild Exodus – outdoor adventure tours

My Favourite Things To Do in Northeastern Ontario:
- Skating with the Gold City Roller Girls in Timmins
- Walking an alpaca at Dream Acres Alpacas in Matheson
- Flying up the James Bay coast with Thunder Airlines
- Driving the back country roads of Smooth Rock Falls
- Voyageur canoe trip to New Post Falls with Northern Spirit Adventures

I can’t wait to repeat some of my favourite activities this spring, while finding new things to do in the region.
Whether you want to travel locally, within your home country, or abroad, it’s time to start planning! What’s number one on your list?
There’s so much on my list that I can’t even think of #1. Hope you get to do everything. Northern Ontario looks beautiful 🙂 I’ve only been to Toronto, Windsor, Niagra Falls and Sault St. Marie in Ontario.

Do you have plans to explore more within Ontario and Canada in the near future?

Since I’m Europe based now, I unfortunately don’t. But the Trans Canadian highway is on my bucket list, so who knows…if Trump wins and I lose my job in Spain, you can find me in either Ontario or Nova Scotia for sure 🙂

Who knows right! haha sounds good! I’m sure I will be seeing you around! Where in Europe are you based now? Only travelers and transients understand the term “based in”.

No, Moose are not usually friendly! This moose lives on a wildlife reserve in Northern Ontario and has been human raised for many years.

Each year there seems to be more and more to do in the area…especially if you like outdoor explorations and getting up close with nature and its majestic animals. I’m living there until April.

Sorry I’ve been out of touch; I am back in action again (I bet you know how that is). Stay tuned for more regular postings! I’d love it if you could tell me what you’d like to see more of: travel, bucket list, pilot-wife-life, lifestyle, yoga, or turquoise inspiration (or all of the above, lol)!

In Northern Ontario Canada, Timmins to be exact! Sorry for the radio silence; I was in the process of moving provinces (again).
