Courtney Peveril Photography Captured the Luminance and Sentiment of our Fertility Journey

Having conceived our babies through Assisted Reproductive Technologies – IVF, our parenthood journey didn’t come easily or happen overnight. At times we felt alone and disheartened, but our journey also brought strength, resiliency, and connection. While growing our family over the last 4 years, we experienced both challenges and rewards, but the journey has always been our own and we can’t (and wouldn’t) change anything because we were meant to have these exact little boys grace and brighten our world.

Lazam Creations Custom Father’s Day Gifts

When I was pregnant with my first we did not find out the gender until the birth so we loving named the baby “piña” (aka “pineapple”) while in utero not only because it’s cute and I once loved traveling to tranquil turquoise destinations to eat fresh tropical fruits, but also because I ate a whole heck of a lot of pineapples (yes, including the core) throughout my IVF experience to conceive Hudson. If you’ve been through fertility treatments yourself, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Pineapples have been dubbed a symbol for the trying to conceive (TTC) community and a symbol of friendship and strength for the infertile. Through hardship, pineapples stand tall and have pointy defenses to protect them, yet are bright, positive, and sweet. I love the analogy.

✨Laura Lotus Love Custom Mala 📿Rekindled Clarity, Creativity, and Connection ✨

Laura Lotus Love Mala

Laura Lotus Love Mala

Over the years, I learned how to truly face my fears to make my dreams come true so to speak and to do it over and over again. Whether the dream was small, big, tangible, or intangible, I taught myself to approach what I was afraid of in different ways and to repeat the process over and over. I had to get to know myself really well to face my fears, take risks, and put myself out there to blindly say “yes!” to life. I experienced new and unexpected places and I was able to accomplish what felt like the impossible. Continue reading

Keeping Mexico Alive in our Home with Modern Map Art

Modern Map Art

Modern Map ArtViva Las MEXICO! Mexico is a country that’s near and dear to mine and my husband’s hearts! From backpacking, turquoise adventures, all-in-luxury, to a hideaway honeymoon, our hearts remain and will forever stay with Mexico! As much as we love visiting new destinations (and we try really hard to do so), there is something special about Mexico that keeps luring us back. My husband Corey didn’t quite understand what I meant when I talked endlessly about my backpacking days in Mexico until he experienced it for the first time himself. Now that he’s been for our honeymoon and one year anniversary, Mexico has its full grip on his heart too! Have you ever been somewhere and left a part of yourself behind? Mexico is that place for us. Our hearts belong to Mexico. Mexico is a place where you can lose yourself, find yourself, and rediscover yourself all in one trip. Its white sand and turquoise waters has the mesmerizing power to transform your thinking and give your a clear perspective. It’s not surprising that when I heard of Modern Map Art’s (founded in 2016) new & fresh map prints,  I just HAD to get my hands on one of their Enhanced Matte Mexico Map Posters for our home! Now we can put our love (and memories) of Mexico in the center of house!

We’re on the Move Again|Moving with the Tides to Halifax

Peggy's Cove

Peggy’s Cove

My mother recently shared a saying with me she saw online (even before we heard the news): “Advice from the ocean: be SHORE of yourself, come out of your SHELL, take time to COAST, avoid PIER pressure, SEA life’s beauty, don’t get TIDE down, MAKE WAVES “, and it couldn’t be more true! We are coasting, seeing life’s beauty, and making waves along the way! Looks like we are meant be living back on the OCEAN. Well, as you probably expected, we are on the move again! Surprised? I’m not! I’m moving to my fourth city in under 12 months. The joys of being a pilot wife; everyday is an adventure! We have been transferred to…

My Forgiveness Fast

Toronto

Why was I fasting yesterday?

After being inspired by the founder of Yoga in Schools Canada, Breathing Space Yoga Studios, and MY incredible yoga teacher Jenny Kierstead, I decided to take a day for myself and fast for 18 hours! 18 being significant and representing the number 108, a sacred number in the yoga tradition–the distance between the earth and the sun is apporx 108 times the sun’s diameter, there are said to be 108 energy lines converging to and from the heart, among MANY other significances. Yesterday I reflected, wrote, and observed nature during my fast. I’m called it my FORGIVENESS FAST! Continue reading

Peace of Mind and Piece of Luxury with West Lake

West LakeI’m always on the hunt for Canadian made quality natural products free from parabens, chemicals, and petroleum products/by-products. I’m sure you’re with me when I say that I want to know what’s in the products I use and put on my body. Natural products are not only good for us, but they’re also good for the environment. I was lucky enough to be introduced to West Lake Cosmetics on Instagram by a fellow Canadian blogger Couper from Happy Life Pilot Wife who loves using all-natural local products from her home province Ontario, but especially loves West Lake Cosmetics! She told me that she and her family are addicted to the Rosemary Lavender Shampoo Bar. With that being said, I was instantly intrigued, went over to West Lake’s Intstagram account to browse their many photos and immediately wanted to try a shampoo bar myself (among other products), especially since I have never tried one before. Living Outside the Box with Dusky Leaf’s Cubist Yoga Bag

Dusky Leaf
Dusky LeafAs a busy-bee hyperactive traveler, pilot wife, and on-the-go yoga teacher, I’m constantly on the move whether I’m on a trip with my husband, commuting locally to and from the yoga studio, or traveling to out-of-province yoga workshops. For everyday in-studio teaching or local workshops, I’m absolutely in love with my Dusky Leaf bright cerulean blue B.I.G Yoga Bag — it has it all! This BIG bag proves to be exactly what I need to transport ALL of my favourite essential yoga teaching tools and props with its many extra features. However, there are those days when I’m in need of a yoga bag spacious enough for my Dusky Leaf Natural Rubber Mat and a few other practical items, while not being “too big” so it’s convenient for air travel and land exploration. Tis the season for outdoor yoga! I like to maintain my yoga practice and lifestyle even when on the road. My new Dusky Leaf Cubist Yoga Bag is an innovative rectangular bag made specifically to transport as much as possible, while keeping things light and compact—perfect for the unconventional carry-on-only traveler like me.

Lily Morgan’s Spring Line is Practical, Comfy, and Versatile

Giant Tiger

Giant TigerThis month I had the pleasure and blessing of joining the Giant Tiger team at an Ottawa Fury FC game at TD Place to hand out roses to the ladies at the game to celebrate all females, especially mothers on the Saturday before Mother’s Day! It was an incredible honour to hand a rose to a woman, regardless of age, and see their face light up at Giant Tigers’ thoughtful gesture. It was a beautiful experience as a team of women, along with Giant Tiger’s furry favourite Friendly, to recognize all women with white and red roses in celebration of motherhood regardless if they are traditional mothers or not! As an educator, I know that we are all one, unified in helping raise our world’s children to be inspired and successful. Seeing mothers glowing while holding their rose with pride alongside their singing children was a sight to see.  Continue reading
