My farewell gifts

As my time in the north comes to an end, I am starting a new chapter with my husband Corey with my MOVE TO TORONTO TOMORROW! Toronto will be our new home base for the time being. A new story begins; when one door closes another door opens. Adventure lies ahead (and lots of travel opportunities with Porter Airlines & Porter Escapes). Although I am saddened to leave my new job and amazing friends behind (is it an option to take them with me?), I am READY, OPEN, and EXCITED for what’s to come.

Spring Bucket List Items to do in Northeastern Ontario

Northern Ontario

I am in a mad rush to finish all of my winter bucket list items before spring comes. I’m hoping I am not the only one in this position. With the first day of spring right around the corner, it’s time to finish one bucket list and to start planning for my spring bucket list items. What’s on your spring bucket list? It is hard to believe that my time in Northeastern Ontario is coming to an end very shortly with my husband getting a job with Porter (how exciting!). As much as I have thoroughly enjoyed my time traveling around Northern Ontario, it’s unlikely that I will be back to this area after we depart anytime in the near future as this is my fourth visit to Ontario’s northern region. This last visit has based me here for 8 months of explorations in the area. Northeastern Ontario has welcome me with open arms as if it has been my home. What a blessing it has been to be able to travel to different regions within my home country–Ontario is no exception. Continue reading

Happy Valentine’s Day from Northeastern Ontario!

Comment below with your current location this Valentine’s Day and how  you will celebrate the day of love! I’ll be celebrating today in South Porcupine, Ontario for their annual South Porcupine Winter Carnival. This year’s theme is “The Great Outdoors”  and I’ll be enjoying exactly that while watching the evening fire works over Porcupine Lake. It will be my first winter fire works experience. I can’t wait to see the fire works light up the white snow below!

What will you be out exploring this week?  Lakes, forests, or plains?

Self-Care this Winter Season

Beautiful You Aesthetics

Beautiful You AestheticsLooking for a way to pamper yourself or someone special this month? With Valentines Day right around the corner we’re all looking for ways to treat our loved ones (including sending some self-care to ourselves). I’m tired of the dry winter weather terrorizing my hands and feet! Do you ever feel that way? My poor weathered hands are thanking me after being spoiled with a turquoise treat—a spa shellac manicure by Colleen Losier of Beautiful You Aesthetics. It’s time we do something not only for others, but for ourselves! Although February is one of the shortest months of the year it can also feel like one of the longest amidst Canada’s harsh winter season. With 8 more weeks of winter left, Spring couldn’t come sooner. Why not indulge in a much deserved luxurious manicure, pedicure, or spa service this winter to delight the body and pleasure the soul.
