It’s official! This has been my best kept secret! Today is my husband’s first day of work at Porter Airlines–he’s one of the newest members of the Porter team! I’m so excited to be a part of the Porter family and for our Porter journey to begin. I’ve always loved flying with Porter and it’s my go-to airline when flying within Canada and the United States, but now it’s even more exciting since my husband will be flying the planes! I can’t wait for the day when my husband can fly ME to a new and unexplored destination. Porter flies to 24 destinations in Canada and the U.S., with many of its fabulous destinations being places I’ve never actually explored like Mont Tremblant, Pittsburgh, Myrtle Beach, Chicago, Charleston, and beyond. I’m already planning where I want to go first. Let the wanderlust continue! Continue reading →
After taking 65 flights during my 14 months of full time travel, I can’t believe that I haven’t been on a plane in 4 months. I love flying. I could skip the airports part, but I love going on airplanes. I haven’t been on a flight in what feels like forever, to the point that I’ve been starting to get a bit of withdrawal. When I returned home after traveling around the world I went back work with no definite plans for a near future trip. After 4 months of anxiously awaiting my next flight, I am officially heading to Montreal for Christmas break! My boyfriend and I will be spending Christmas with his family this year. I’m getting a mini-vacation this holiday season after all. Continue reading →
On my way back from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, instead of driving back to New Brunswick I was picked up in single engine Cessna. Flying to New Brunswick in a 4-seater was much quicker than driving the 6 plus hours from Cape Breton. Conveniently, my boyfriend is a pilot so we arranged for my personal pick up in Nova Scotia. Anytime I have the opportunity to fly, regardless of the size of the aircraft, I take it. I’ve always loved flying, but I am even more passionate about flying now that I am dating a pilot. I have taken 15 flights since the beginning of July. Most on commercial flights, a handful in a 2-seater Diamond Aircraft and another in a 4-seater Cessna. Now that I have begun my 12 months off from work I can’t even imagine how many flights I will be taking throughout my travels. I’ll be keeping track because I am curious to see how many the year will incur.
For my 30th birthday I planned to complete thirty things to celebrate the big 3.0 in my own unique way. It has been three weeks since my 30th birthday and I have finally completed my list!
Here is my thirty for 30:

2. Go River Tubing with Gallan’s Miramichi River Tubing
3. Stay overnight at the Scooner Point Log Cabins
4. Take a trip with my best friend
5. Shopping in Maine
7. Fly in a 2-seater diamond aircraft
8. Eat my birthday dinner at Maverick’s Steak House & Grill
9. Flying lessons
10. Pick out my own birthday cake- Treatzza Pizza from DQ
11. Spend my birthday at the beach
12. Visit La dune de Bouctouche
13. Buy a new outfit to wear on my birthday
14. Embrace being thirty by not having a birthday party, but rather celebrate it with experiences

Within a week I fell from a plane and flew a plane! It is hard to believe that I have been to both extremes within a week. I’m always looking for every opportunity to try something new! I usually don’t say no to new opportunities. Well, maybe trying certain slimy and crunchy foods is off limits: bugs. I don’t think I can bring myself to ever trying fried insects. I need to have some limits! People are incredibly brave who have tried them! The idea of it gives me chills.
Having a boyfriend as a pilot has its benefits. We have the privilege of renting a plane anytime we like to fly wherever we like. We get to spend our travel time together and we don’t have to share the aircraft with anyone else. We can travel on our schedule, not someone else`s. We have had the opportunity to fly over our subdivision, Moncton New Brunswick, Hopewell Rocks, Fundy Park, the Chocolate River (also known as the Petitcodiac River), and to see the world`s highest tides from above!
