Living Outside the Box with Dusky Leaf’s Cubist Yoga Bag

Dusky Leaf
Dusky LeafAs a busy-bee hyperactive traveler, pilot wife, and on-the-go yoga teacher, I’m constantly on the move whether I’m on a trip with my husband, commuting locally to and from the yoga studio, or traveling to out-of-province yoga workshops. For everyday in-studio teaching or local workshops, I’m absolutely in love with my Dusky Leaf bright cerulean blue B.I.G Yoga Bag — it has it all! This BIG bag proves to be exactly what I need to transport ALL of my favourite essential yoga teaching tools and props with its many extra features. However, there are those days when I’m in need of a yoga bag spacious enough for my Dusky Leaf Natural Rubber Mat and a few other practical items, while not being “too big” so it’s convenient for air travel and land exploration. Tis the season for outdoor yoga! I like to maintain my yoga practice and lifestyle even when on the road. My new Dusky Leaf Cubist Yoga Bag is an innovative rectangular bag made specifically to transport as much as possible, while keeping things light and compact—perfect for the unconventional carry-on-only traveler like me.

Dusky Leaf’s Natural Rubber Mat: Foundation of a Solid Practice

Dusky Leaf Yoga

Dusky Leaf YogaAs a yoga practitioner and newbie yoga teacher, I’m feeling strong and confident with my new Dusky Leaf Natural Rubber Yoga Mat (you can also find the mat in the Canadian store), which provides one of the highest-traction surfaces available. Since graduating from my Yoga Teacher Training, I’ve started teaching yoga this fall and have been teaching for two months now. Using Dusky Leaf’s Natural Rubber Mat gives me a superior degree of slip resistance provided by the open-cell structure of the natural tree rubber, which is essential when teaching and demonstrating postures. Using a yoga mat that is made from natural rubber gives me a level of cushioning and resilience that is not often seen in a synthetic material, which is crucial when practicing up to 6 days a week. When teaching and practicing on my Dusky Leaf rubber mat I don’t have to worry about what my mat is doing or whether or not my hands and feet are slipping, but rather I can focus on the articulation of the yoga posture–my yoga practice itself. With my hands and feet rooted, I can move with ease from posture to posture. The natural rubber mat’s cushioning, resilience, and traction has become the foundation of my solid practice–strong and supported. Dusky Leaf’s B.I.G Yoga Bag is Perfect When on the Go

Dusky Leaf

As a modern day yogi and woman always on the go, it’s as if Dusky Leaf’s – cerulean blue B.I.G Yoga Bag was created specifically for me, not only for it’s fabulous turquoise colour, but also because of its massive size and features. From the minute I received my big yoga bag, I fell in love with it. Its easy adjustable shoulder straps, wide carrying handles, heavy duty zipper, inside and outside pockets, and its rugged cotton canvas exterior (among other things) make my life easier, especially when living out of my yoga bag. This particular yoga bag is designed for anyone who seems to constantly be on the go (or a busy-bee traveler like me). No need to run back and forth between home and the gym/yoga studio; you can take everything you need for the day (or weekend) in the one bag. From a heavy duty extra long natural rubber yoga mat (as shown in the image below) to a change of clothes, this yoga bag has room for it all. Continue reading

Standing Strong with Dusky Leaf’s Zeroslip Yoga Towel

Zeroslip yoga towelZeroslip Yoga TowelAt this stage in my yoga journey, I have started to push myself further by attending some advanced yoga classes (sometimes I think I am nuts) and attempting the intermediate and advanced postures during my ashtanga and vinyasa practice. It’s challenging, yet I am up for the challenge. There is something rewarding about doing something outside of my comfort zone. I’m not always successful, but there are moments (even glimpses of moments) when I surpass my expectations. Often times, my ego gets in the way and tells me that I can’t do it or that I’m not good enough. I’ve been trying to overcome these thoughts by giving it a try anyway. It can’t hurt right? Like in the movie Spanglish, the main character says in broken English over and over again “just try it”. I’ve been just trying it. It’s in these moments, when I am working beyond my comfort level that I need a solid ground to stand on. I’m able to do just that with my new non slip yoga towel. Continue reading
