I’m always on the hunt for Canadian made quality natural products free from parabens, chemicals, and petroleum products/by-products. I’m sure you’re with me when I say that I want to know what’s in the products I use and put on my body. Natural products are not only good for us, but they’re also good for the environment. I was lucky enough to be introduced to West Lake Cosmetics on Instagram by a fellow Canadian blogger Couper from Happy Life Pilot Wife who loves using all-natural local products from her home province Ontario, but especially loves West Lake Cosmetics! She told me that she and her family are addicted to the Rosemary Lavender Shampoo Bar. With that being said, I was instantly intrigued, went over to West Lake’s Intstagram account to browse their many photos and immediately wanted to try a shampoo bar myself (among other products), especially since I have never tried one before. March seems to be the month for rest, reprieve, and replenishing after the long winter season in Northeastern Ontario. I’m slowly coming out of hibernation. I can’t believe it–I’ve nearly survived my first winter in the north! Thanks to good advice from the locals of how to survive the winter and a mighty stock of winter-wear, I’m nearly there. I’ve kept myself busy by sampling the best in area from yoga, outdoor sports, and winter adventures, to warm spa experiences. I don’t think I would have made it through the winter season without a balance of outdoor expeditions and relaxing indoor activities to follow. I needed something to sooth my cool body and frost bitten skin after being outside for hours on end. With spring in sight, I’m looking forward to more sunny days, blue skies, and the end of winter. I can’t thank Colleen of Beautiful You Aesthetics enough for treating me to my first Seacret mineral mud facial. Surely the minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, essential oils, and natural ingredients derived from the Dead Sea will awaken and rejuvenate my deprived skin and prepare it for what’s to come. “Spring is a time to find out where you are, who you are, and move toward where you are going” – Penelope Trunk. Thank you Colleen for helping me peel the layers back so to speak and preparing my soul for new beginnings and unknown journeys.
JustNatural Holistic Spa’s new aesthetician Katrina Richard made me feel like a Disney princess in my very own little “castle” during my spa manicure treatment. From the moment I arrived at the spa, it was as if I was swept away to faraway magical enchanted place with my very own fairytale tent to be pampered. I felt like a little girl getting her nails painted for the very first time–giddy with excitement to pick my colours. Yes, I went with princess colours of course–purple! I bet you’re surprised I didn’t go with my usual pick: turquoise! With spring right around the corner in a mere two weeks, it is time for a change and if there was no change there would be no more butterflies. Katrina’s friendly service, kind heart, and creative skills made her the perfect choice for my girly day at the spa! From the variety of nail lacquer, warm tranquil ambiance, relaxing music, to her chic décor, Katrina gave me an incredible spa experience, while using pomegranate scented natural products on my winter-weathered dry hands. Everyone deserves to be a countess for a day! I’m ready to come out of my winter cocoon, spread my wings, and FLY. Where shall I fly next?
How many of you use social media? If you’re anything like me, I’m quick at posting news on my social media accounts because of how easy it is to post pictures and updates with a couple of clicks. My social media posts are almost always different than what I post on my blog. In an effort to share more intimate and detailed updates of my travel, lifestyle, and yoga adventures, I tend to gravitate to social media. My social media accounts display a more informal and personal perspective of my escapades to give my followers a better idea of what my turquoise inspired lifestyle is like! Can you relate to this? If you want Turquoise Compass news as quick as possible, then join me on social media! There is nothing better than seeing updates from the blogs I follow on social media before the news is even posted on their website. Be the first to like, share, re-tweet, pin, or comment on my colourful social updates! Connect with you there. Continue reading →
