A Seaside Christmas is the Kind of Christmas for Me

Christmas at the Coliseum

Going with the theme The Christmas Song (one of my favorite Christmas songs) by Nat King Cole, commonly known as Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire, I can’t help but think a seaside Christmas is the kind of Christmas for me. Although I love chestnuts roasting by an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at my nose, turkey, and mistletoe, the thing I love most is a seaside themed Christmas. Most of my house and Christmas Tree decorations are turquoise and beach themed. Last year, I was able to spend the week before Christmas in Puerto Rico. Now that’s the perfect place to celebrate a seaside Christmas. Well, I found my Atlantic Canadian seaside Christmas, not by the sea, but at Turner’s Christmas at the Coliseum. Everywhere I looked I found sea inspired Christmas decorations. This Christmas extravaganza made me feel right at home. Although I won’t be on a tropical beach this Christmas, at least I know that I can surround myself with ocean inspired decorations, not to mention the fact that I’m conveniently located 20 minutes from the beach. It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like a Turquoise Christmas

Christmas at the Coliseum

@Revamped Living- Bringing furniture back to life

Christmas at the ColiseumAfter spending this past weekend at Turner’s Christmas at the Coliseum, I have come to realize that it’s beginning to look a lot like a turquoise Christmas (can you hear me singing?). I’m thinking that this is how Christmas should look–purely turquoise and festive. I had fun exploring the rows and rows of vendors in the coliseum, while trying to spot turquoise treasures. It wasn’t difficult to find turquoise all around, because it seems that every booth had at least one item in the colour of turquoise, if not an array of totally turquoise gifts. Continue reading

Turquoise Thursday: Turquoise Arts and Crafts Show

It seems that everywhere I look this Christmas season, I see turquoise. I don’t know if it’s because my favorite colour is turquoise, my blog’s name is Turquoise Compass, I write about something turquoise every Thursday, or because my eyes have now been trained to spot turquoise. In any case, I love seeing turquoise all around me, especially during my favorite time of the year- Christmastime. To jump start my holiday season I recently attended Moncton New, Brunswick’s annual Turner’s Christmas at the Coliseum. It would appear to me that the colour of choice this year is turquoise! I’m not just saying that because I found a few turquoise items. There were turquoise items at literally almost every booth at the event. With other 400 exhibitors at the Christmas event, I roamed through a sea of turquoise. I loved every second of it. Photo of the Week-Turquoise Christmas

The ‘Handmade In Canada by Me’ booth at Turner’s Christmas at the Coliseum was decked out in TURQUOISE! Carol Vienneau Jellison studio creates original one-of-a-kind hand built sculptures, pottery, and hand-knitted scarves. Her booth show cased many unique turquoise items. I love that the “in” colour this Christmas is turquoise. It seems that this holiday season everywhere I look I see turquoise.

It looks like it is going to be a turquoise Christmas.
