Snorkelling the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef

Snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef

Both Airlie Beach and Cairns are considered gateway towns to the Great Barrier Reef. Throughout my travels on Australia’s East Coast, I had two opportunities to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef. First, I went snorkeling from Airlie Beach with Ocean Rafting to the Whitsunday Islands which is located on the south part of the Great Barrier Reef. Airlie Beach

Ocean Rafting took me on the ride of my life to see the top snorkel spots on the southern Great Barrier Reef off Hook Island, Hill Inlet lookout, Hill Inlet Beaches, and Whitehaven Beach. I need to be realistic in the fact that storms come and go and my plans might be intermitadely put on hold. Yet, I couldn’t help but be disappointed that mother nature was raining on my parade. This was one of those rare instances when I needed to be patient for the storm to pass and for better days to arrive.
